Egyptian Academy of Art

The Entry submission for a competition of Egyptian Academy of Art Rome, Italy. The concept of the design is based on the SPIRAL, a form with deep resonance in the Egyptian culture. Helix, the dominant, will tie up the masses and the landscape, in order to approach the constant characteristics of the Egyptian architecture. Besides that, inspired with the existence of the building near Shawky’s square, In 3 languages, English, Arabic and Italian, carring verses of Ahmed Shwky’s poetry, the mural will be the keystone that links the building with the Academy’s cultural content, The site’s contradictory nature and molding with the Arabic fonts on the Helix as a motif.
